Polls consistently position the AfD as the frontrunner for the largest vote share in Sachsen-Anhalt's September 6 Landtag election under proportional representation, with recent INSA data from late March showing 38% support versus 25% for the CDU, driving trader consensus to near-certainty on AfD victory. The incumbent CDU-led coalition with SPD and FDP polls below a majority at 36%, weakened since Sven Schulze replaced Reiner Haseloff as Minister-President in January amid economic pressures and migration debates. The AfD's lead has held steady from 30% last summer, bolstered by opposition gains, while the CDU faces challenges despite its firewall against AfD coalitions. This weekend's AfD state congress finalizes its election program, potentially sharpening campaign dynamics ahead of the vote.
